rumors of my demise are completely understandable. i was hepta-gone. but now i'm hepta-back.

this is the Curtain Call - the final update for the Horncore Studios build of FLICK CLUB, undiscovered bugs notwithstanding.

it's not a v1.0, never will be, but i can finally say i left it in a good place. it is robust. i trudged through pre-pandemic code i haven't looked at in over a year to add some requested improvements, never-before-seen illustrations, achievements, and even an April Fools joke turned real years later! still 100% free.

FLICK CLUB v0.10.0 patch notes:

• i wrote mini-Story Mode campaigns added for Mimi, Elin, Luke, Skye, and eSports Zeta
  • new cutscenes are simple. 2 lines of idle trash talk, flirting, or story progression (just like K*rby's Av*lanche)
  • in NSFW mode, one of Nalem's illustrations appears at the end of each campaign. honestly sorry that it took so long for some of these drawings to see the light of day - they hit the ball out of the park while drawing my OCs rounding the bases
  • the ending illustrations can be viewed at any time by purchasing the respective character's FLICK Potion at the bar
  • if you unlocked FLICK Potions in v0.9, you already have access to this art!

• in VS mode, line matches launch suited confetti at your opponent (can be disabled from settings menu if it's too much)
• during NSFW post-match sequences, press RB/RT on gamepad or E on keyboard to swap positions
• cut the opening Haxeflixel jingle volume in half
• updated credits, since some of the socials were out of date
• added 2 new Strike FX: Philadelphia Pride Flag and Ribbon (i didn't have room to add them to June's bar menu, so they're just unlocked from the start)

  • added on-screen page for Achievement Badges (earned for completing single player modes in all difficulties
  • VS Garnishes moved to VS match settings (under Secret Menu, everything in there is unlocked from the get-go because i didn't want to bolt new locks onto an already janky menu)
  • unlocking a character's FLICK Potion also gives access to that character's ending art, if they have one (wait i mentioned this already in the Story Mode updates)
  • added 3 mini-galleries of Nalem's CG illustrations from the earlier Zeta Story Mode draft (use the arrow keys or d-pad to scroll through them - again, if you unlocked the mods that were previously in those slots in v0.9, you already got these galleries, congrats)
  • NOTE: new CG content is not accessible in any way during eSports mode - it's too damn good to censor
  • you can now tip June one (1) blue emblem. it doesn't unlock anything, it's just a nice thing to do for your virtual slimetender
  • added temporary unlock for all VS Mode-specific content, in case you're running a tourney, throwing a party, or just don't feel like grinding for emblems
• new features in Secret Menu

  
  

  • added option to display remaining stamina as numeric text
  • custom decks - if you want to choose violence and make every card a feather, go for it
  • Black Dress mode - it started as an April Fools joke where all the roster had matching underwear sets, but the sprites I made for Zeta, Mimi, Skye, and Elin were very much real, so why not?
  • former game mod "No Timers/Bombs" incorporated into main timer speed menu (it's the "OFF" option)

there we go, that's FLICK CLUB. this isn't a "goodbye" though. it's a "hello again".

every ghost has their unfinished business. i want to rediscover my style. i want to redesign my OCs. i want to learn Godot. i want to build an intimate scene. i want to build a world. i want to make videogames do fucks better.
